200 Family Entrepreneurs Will Analyze Their Contribution To Economic Recovery Starting Tomorrow

The 7 Regional Congress of the Family Business starts tomorrow at the Hotel Castilla Termal Monasterio de Valbuena de San Bernardo (Valladolid) in order to analyze the current situation and the challenges of the economy, and show the commitment of the family business to face with successful recovery.

Organized by Empresa Familiar de Castilla y León (EFCL) with the sponsorship of CaixaBank and EY, and the collaboration of Mapfre, Aon and Iberdrola, this benchmark business event will bring together more than 200 businessmen and representatives of the administrations and of the main business and financial organizations of the Community around different presentations, which will have the participation of top international businessmen .

The congress will be opened at 10.30 am by the president of EFCL, Rocío Hervella; the territorial director of Caixabank in Castilla y León, Belén Martín, and the partner in EY Ramón Masip. At 11 am, the president of the Family Business Institute and executive president of Puig, Marc Puig, will offer the opening speech.

This first day will continue at 11.15 am with a round table on the new education with César Bona, considered one of the 50 best teachers in the world, Eugenio Prieto, senior partner of Kearney and president of the Education Committee of the Círculo de Empresarios, and Alberto Guerra, director of the Castilla y León Family Business Foundation, promoted by EFCL to promote vocational training in the Community.

The symposium will resume at 1 pm with a round table on new business models in which Gregorio Jiménez, president of Restaurant Brands Iberia, a Spanish business group that integrates the exploitation rights as a franchise master in Spain and Portugal of Burger King, will take part. Tim Hortons and Popeyes, and Manu Marin, co-founder and CEO of Livall Europe.

The first day of the congress will conclude in the afternoon with a motivational conference by Zapata Tenor.

On Friday, the congress will resume at 10 am with the conference “The challenges of the Spanish economy”, which will be offered by the president of the Círculo de Empresarios, Manuel Pérez-Sala .

This second day will also have the intervention of the presidents of EY, Federico Linares, and of Caixabank, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri; the heads of important family businesses such as Actiu, Soledat Berbegal; Martiderm Group, Montse Martí, and Grupo Industrial Crimidesa, Victoria Plantalamor, and coach Toni Nadal.

More than 19% of GDP
Founded in June 1997 with the aim of working to promote the continuity of family businesses in the region, EFCL is currently made up of 168 family companies from across the region, leaders in their respective sectors, whose global turnover is equivalent to 19, 50 percent of the regional GDP and employs 10.50 percent of the employed population in the private sector.
